Issue/Introduction

After an unscheduled IPL, a client had a situation where CA Dispatch was not fully up and accepting logins . They did not realize the problem right away and they asked if there were any messages written to the log that Automation can use to verify that CA Dispatch was up.

Is there a way to validate the CA Dispatch processing environment is active without actually logging in?

Environment

z/OS

Resolution

- Message issued by the CADZSPLx task confirming that it is fully initialized:

CADD011I SPLx now accepting Modify and Stop commands

- Messages issued by the CA Dispatch task confirming that it is fully initialized:

 DC013005 V1 T0 IDMS-CV/DC INITIALIZATION COMPLETE
 DC074100 V1 T0 V1 Enter Next Task Code

NOTE: Automation can be set up to use the above messages and ensure that the CADZSPLx task is fully active before CA Dispatch and it's report processing subtasks (RPI,MSG,RPO,ARCHIVE) are started. The CADZSPLx task must be up before starting CA Dispatch.
