Issue/Introduction

Need to move MDB's SQL server to new hardware with a new IP address but the name will be kept so need to know if there's any issue related the IP address change.

Environment

Release:
Component: DTSVMG

Resolution

The remote MDB server is usually configured using the server's name so the IP address change won't have effect if DNS servers get in sync after the IP address change.

In order to be sure the Enterprise/Domain Manager is using the server name, the following command will show the configured dbmsserver name value:

ccnfcmda -cmd getparametervalue -ps itrm/database/default -pn dbmsserver
