Issue/Introduction

Server failed with OOM error in app-system.log:

Exception in thread "http-nio-00000-ClientPoller-1" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread

Cause

This indicates the amount of threads has been exceeded.

Resolution

• To find out the exact root cause we have to review and see which request had too many threads that passed the limit.
• We recommend to take not only thread dumps, but also heap dumps, in a timely fashion in order to have the evidence for what is causing the excessive threads.
