Issue/Introduction

Our Agency is planning on turning off NTLM v1.0 on our Active Directory Domain controllers for security purposes. Our Security team has been able to identify accounts that are using NTLM v1.0 to authenticate with AD and one of them is the ID that we use when setting up the AD connection in EEM on the User store page. There are no options on the configuration page that indicate what authentication protocol to use. Can you tell me if AD authentication is going to work in APM, Catalog, and PAM (via EEM) when they update the domain controllers not to accept NTLM v1.0?

Resolution

NTLMv1 is extremely old and was the standard for Win95 and NT3.5. NTLMv2 was the standard for NT4 and is the current standard and fully supported by EEM. Disabling NTLMv1 will have no adverse affect as far as EEM is concerned.
