CA VM:Backup for z/VMCA VM:Backup High-Speed Disaster Recovery Option (HiDRO)
Issue/Introduction
I'm in the process of installing VMBACKUP on a new VM 7.1 system. I got to step 4.1 Copy Product Materials to Runtime Areas and I'm to run command VMRMDS. When I issue the command I get the following: VMR022S VMRMDS requires that the directory reader diagnose is installed in order to collect minidisk information.
Not sure what I need to do at this point. I have VMANAGER installed with all the PTF's applied and I don't think I missed anything.
Environment
Release: Component: VMB
Resolution
Customer was missing the Directory Reader Diagnose which must be installed and loaded first. If you are running z/VM 7.1, the z/VM release-specific Directory Reader Diagnose (VMNDLK71 TEXT) must be installed.
Additional Information
The Directory Reader Diagnose (VMNDLK) must be installed for some of the install tasks to complete. Each release of z/VM requires a new VMNDLK.
To place the diagnose into effect now, you can do so interactively with the following commands: . Two DEFINEs and one CPXLOAD:
CPXLOAD VMNDLK71 TEXT * NOCONTROL LET TEMPORARY
DEFINE DIAGNOSE 100 ENABLE EPNAME VMNDLKUP PRIVCLASSES E CHECKR15 YES
DEFINE COMMAND VMNDLK ENABLE EPNAME VMNDLKCP PRIVCLASSES E IBMCLASS E
