Issue/Introduction

When configuring Twilio as an SMS provider in Identity Manager for One Time Password (OTP) functionality, the setup requires a "Service URL." This guide provides the correct API endpoint format and explains how to extract it from Twilio's standard documentation.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5 & 15

Cause

Twilio dashboards do not explicitly list a "Service URL" field, leading to confusion when Identity Manager documentation requests this specific parameter alongside the Account SID and Auth Token.

Resolution

1. Access the SMS configuration section within the Identity Manager Management Console.
2. Use the following base Twilio API URL for OTP messages: https://api.twilio.com/2010-04-01/Accounts/
3. Important: Do not include credentials (AccountSid or AuthToken) directly in the URL string, as these are entered in separate fields within the SMS configuration UI.
4. Ensure the trailing slash is included at the end of the URL to prevent authentication errors.
