Issue/Introduction

Is there any product that you or one of your partners have that can encrypt IDMS data that is stored on the database?

We do not provide any data encryption for IDMS databases. The best you could implement from us would be data compression. However we do not compress key fields so there is no guarantee that an entire record would be compressed. Also the compression algorithm is widely known so it would not be that difficult to manually decompress the data. I doubt it would ever pass an audit as encryption software. 

There is apparently a company called Advanced System Products Group. (WWW.ASPG.COM) that is working on something for IDMS databases. It appears that MEGACryption may be the product name.you may want to look at them and I'd also suggest that you pose the question on the community site.
