Issue/Introduction

A PAM-CM-1758 error occurs while attempting to perform a 'dummy' update using the following PAM CLI syntax for an Oracle account:
capam_command -n jabdavc0005.it.statestr.com -u certadmin -p xxx cmdName=updateTargetAccount TargetAccount.ID=18953 TargetAccount.userName=Intrsys TargetAccount.accessType=Oracle Attribute.useOtherAccountToChangePassword=false

The full error is PAM-CM-1758: Connection type was not specified.

Similar syntax works fine for MSSQL.

Cause

The command was missing a required attribute.

Resolution

Adding Attribute.useOid=false to the PAM CLI command solved the problem.
