Issue/Introduction

You are resizing your Datacom Databases data sets on one of your production system.

When you restarted CAIENF, it came up and seemed to function properly. But you saw these messages in the task listing :

CAS9428I - CA7ONL STC43551 00ABCBE0 Recovery waiting for DB update
CAS9429I - CA7ONL STC43551 00ABCBE0 Recovery resuming

You looked up to these messages and they said no action was required.

You then noticed CA-7 had these messages :

CAL2X927E (MGR) CCI ERROR FUNC=SEND RC=08 CC=0A TEXT=CCI LINK HAS SHUTDOWN/IS SHUTTING DOWN
CAL2X905E XTRK SUB-TASK ENDED PREMATURELY: TRACKING MANAGER (CAL2XTMG) TCBCMP=000028
CAL2X108I ALL CA-7 CROSS-PLATFORM TRACKING SUB-TASKS HAVE TERMINATED
CAL2X900W CA-7 XTRK WAITING FOR ENF/CCI TO BECOME ACTIVE. 731

Which makes sense since you recycled CAIENF. But you got these messages in CAIENF again:

CAS9425I - CA7ONL STC43744 00ABB980 Recovery request 15232141610900000
CAS9428I - CA7ONL STC43744 00ABB980 Recovery waiting for DB update
CAS9429I - CA7ONL STC43744 00ABB980 Recovery resuming

The messages only happened two times. They are not continuing.


 



Everything seems to be working fine. Should these messages be of any concern to us?

CA7ONL is doing checkpoint processing, they are initiating it.

ENF is not doing any processing out of the ordinary.

Reason:
A listener with job name, job number and listener name has requested a checkpoint recovery for the date specified.
Action:
None.

CAS9428I
xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx Recovery waiting for DB update
Reason:
The checkpoint recovery request for the listener with job name, job number and listener name is waiting for the database to be updated before it can start the recovery process.
Action:
None.

CAS9429I
xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx Recovery resuming
Reason:
The checkpoint recovery request for the listener with job name, job number, and listener name is resuming after the database updates have completed.
Action:
None.

 

At this point, ENF on CA7ONL is not directly involved in any problem.


These messages are all normal and expected. That is the product doing its normal checkpoint processing.
