VM:Schedule 2.0 processes the clock changes when Daylight Savings Time is starting or ending.
It has the ability to operate over the clock change without restarting the server.
Please note that VM:Schedule PTF RO75067 restored that ability in 2.0 so this is service you need to have on. Without it, you must recycle VM:Schedule after an IPL.
So, make sure you have it.
Recommendations for action with CA VM:Manager suite products during time zone changes
The following describes our current recommendations on what you need to do to allow our VM:Manager products to successfully process a time zone change.
Recycle means to END the product before the time zone change then reinitialize after the time zone change.
CA VM:Account – Time zone change causes VM:Account’s shift change process to run. This process gets new date time information and re-establishes the next shift.
Recommendation: Recycle not required
CA VM:Archiver
Recommendation: Recycle
CA VM:Backup
Recommendation: Recycle
CA VM:Backup HiDRO
Recommendation: Recycle HiDRO when it is convenient but until it is recycled all human readable time information will be incorrect.
CA VM:Batch – Shift reconfiguration is done on a time zone change.
Recommendation: Recycle not required
CA VM:Director - – The product cuts audit record 1060 that marks the event and does other internal processing for the time zone change.
Recommendation: Recycle not required
CA VM:Schedule
Recommendation: VM:Schedule 2.0
Recycle only required if PTF RO75067 is not applied. This PTF is included in the RS1510 collection.
Make sure requests that run around the time that the time zone will change have a WITHIN time setting of at least one hour so when the time goes back an hour they will be in their WITHIN time and will still run.
CA VM:Secure – The product cuts audit record 1060 that marks the event and does other internal processing for the time zone change.
Recommendation: Recycle not required
CA VM:Sort
Recommendation: Nothing to do
CA VM:Spool

CA VM:Tape
