Issue/Introduction
What causes jobs to receive message U11-RHE-08 DBAS IS SUSPENDED, JOB MAY BE DELAYED?
Environment
Release: Component: 11
Resolution
The message U11-RHE-08 DBAS IS SUSPENDED, JOB MAY BE DELAYED is issued if a batch job attempts to run while CA 11 DBAS is in suspend mode. CA 11 has no way to make an I/O request to the database while it is suspended. This will result in jobs being delayed until the RESUME command is issued to resume CA 11 processing. You can confirm if CA 11 is suspended by looking for the following message in the joblog of the CA 11 started task:
U11D-8000-5 SUSPENDING DATABASE ACTIVITY
You can confirm if CA 11 processing has been resumed by looking for the following message in the joblog of the CA 11 started task:
U11D-8000-7 RESUMING DATABASE ACTIVITY
As always, please contact CA Technologies support for CA Workload Restart Option for z/OS Scheduler if you have further questions.
