Issue/Introduction

Are the open zaps for Z/OS 2.3 compatible with HSM?
If hooks are installed on an LPAR using HSM (without Disk), will it be a problem? Can HSM still work?

Resolution

Yes, Disk hooks are compatible with HSM and they can be present into the system even if Disk is not used.
Make sure that the Disk SVC is also in LPA library, otherwise you will not be able to do an IPL correctly.
This is only the requirement to get a unique resident system volume for both HSM or Disk use.
