Download Clarity file folder causes system to become unresponsive

Issue/Introduction

Download the entire Clarity folder of files at once does not work and causes your system to become unresponsive (server is crashing and restarting, OutOfMemoryError)

Resolution

We do not recommend downloading the entire folder at once. Clarity file store is not made for such extensive requests, and this can bring the app service down.
If you need to share few GB worth of files, we suggest using a file sharing application or FTP.

To avoid users from inadvertently bringing the system down, please do the following:

  1. Go to Administration - System Options
  2. Set the Maximum File Size to a specific amount, for example 20MB

This will ensure that the users will not be able to download more than this amount as single file or folder, and will have a warning message if they attempt it.
