Is a new LMP license key needed when upgrading CA Datacom/AD or CA Datacom/DB to a new version?

We are planning to upgrade our CA Datacom product from version 14.0 to 15.0. Is a new LMP license key needed when upgrading CA Datacom/AD or CA Datacom/DB to a new version?
Release: DBCISF00200-15.1-Datacom-Database-Option for CICS Services Component:
The Licensing team have indicated that a client can use the same LMP key for product version updates, as long as the CPU keeps the same serial number and the license key is not currently expired. Otherwise, a new key would need to be generated.
