Issue/Introduction

We have a two system sysplex. One systems ENF has the error:

CAS9603I - CAICCI CCIXCF is Starting on a OS/390
CAS9602E - CAICCI IXCJOIN Error for Mem ABC2CCI@TSTPLE
CAS9380I - RC = 00000008 Drc = 00000008

The other system connects:

CAS9603I - CAICCI CCIXCF is Starting on a OS/390
CAS9603I - CAICCI CCIXCF Component Connection Established,
CAS9603I - CAICCI Group ABCPLEXC Member ABC2CCI@TSTPLE

Environment

Release: ANY
Component: CCIMVS

Cause

The RC=08 for IXCJOIN  indicates a duplicate SYSID attempting to join the network.

In this case the same CCIPARM member was shared on both LPARs.

The only way to change a SYSID is to IPL.

Resolution

Each LPAR must have a unique CCI SYSID.

Define unique CCI SYSID and re-IPL.
