Issue/Introduction

Removing obsolete Agents from COMMQ file.

I do a F ESP,ESPCOM DEST(-) LIST and see several Servers/Agents no longer defined. Is there a process that removes these entries from ESP or the ESPCOM display?

Environment

Release: All Supported Releases of ESP

Cause

Obsolete Agents to be removed from AgentDef and clean COMMQ file.

Resolution

To clean up obsolete agents a CQFORMAT is required on the MASTER only. There is no need to stop and perform this on Proxies or Workstation Server.  I recommend you perform this a a time when you have your lowest processing to Agents. Unprocessed and unsent messages will be lost.

In order to perform a CQFORMAT we recommend the following.

1) stop the SHADOW so it will not take over as MASTER.

2) stop the MASTER

3) restart the MASTER with the CQFORMAT.
