Issue/Introduction

DB2 v 9 introduced a new type of table space known as a universal table space (UTS) which provides "partition-by-range" capability and is now the recommended option to use.

By default, a Gen Host Encyclopedia (HE) is created to use partitioned (non-UTS) table spaces. Can those tablespaces be altered to be universal table space (UTS) without any negative impact on the HE functionality?

Gen Host Encyclopedia (HE) 8.x

Resolution

The Gen 8.x Host Encyclopedia has not been tested with UTS and is therefore not supported. Although the change to UTS may not cause any negative impact if implemented, doing so would be at your own risk.
