How to generate the alarm on the URL EventModel using the url_response probe

Issue/Introduction

How to configure the url_response profile to generate the alarm on the URL EventModel instead of URL's IP Address in Spectrum.

When you create a simple url_response profile the alarm is generated as follows in UIM:

Source: <Robot IP address>

Hostname: <Robot hostname>

And in CA Spectrum you will have the following:

Source: <Robot hostname>

IP/Hostname: <IP Address of the WEB server that hosts the URL>

 

If you set the "Source override" in the Advanced TAB of the url_response profile, the alarm will be generated as follows in Spectrum:

Source: <Source override value>

IP/Hostname: <IP Address of the WEB server that hosts the URL>

Environment

• Spectrum 10.2.x and UIM 8.51

Resolution

Two steps are required:

a) Follow the KB article below:

b) Delete the IP Address of the WEB server that hosts the URL in OC

1. Search by IP, select the WEB server and in Actions choose Delete Selected.

2. Uncheck all checkboxes and click on OK to delete.
