Issue/Introduction

Does CA Disk support Pervasive Encryption?
We are running zOS 2.2 with CA-Disk 12.5 and are upgrading to a z14 zr1 processor with Crypto cards.
We intend to start using Pervasive Encryption (we currently have no encryption or cards) .
Will CA-Disk need any changes to support Pervasive Encryption and if so, what?

Environment

Release:
Component: DISKOS

Resolution

CA Disk preserves the encryption with BACKUP/ARCHIVE and RESTORE.
However, CA Disk MOVE and COPY do not support this, they do not utilize the DSS data mover.

The following PTFs provides this:
RO97920 - IBM PERVASIVE ENCRYPTION SUPPORT
RO98119 - CORRECT HOLD DATA INFO FOR RO97920
(RO98119 supersedes RO97920)
This enhancement provides the ability to use the CA Disk DSS data mover for data sets encrypted with IBM's Pervasive Encryption.
A new value of ENCRYP can be used in the sysparm USEDSSIO (or included in USEDSSIO*).
Encrypted data sets will be backed up and restored using existing SMS and DSS defaults.

RO99165 - ADD DSCL CRITERIA ENCRPBIT FOR PERVASIVE ENCRYPTION
This enhancement provides the ability to use DSCL criteria ENCRPBIT to select or exclude data sets encrypted with IBM's Pervasive Encryption.
