Error: "Mount failed" when mounting zFS file system for ACF2 or Top Secret

Issue/Introduction

When mounting a zFS file system in USS for ACF2 or Top Secret, you see the following error:

Error BPXF135E RC=00000081 Reason code 053b006c Mount failed

Environment

Component: ACF2MS, TSSMVS

Cause

  • Insufficient permissions assigned to the requestors account.
  • Insufficient rights assigned to the mountable folder.

 

 

Resolution

To mount a zFS file system, the MOUNT command requires the requester to have one of the following:

  • Superuser authority
  • Access to the SUPERUSER.FILESYS.MOUNT profile in the UNIXPRIV class. 

 

Additional Information

This error can also indicate that the mount folder does not have write permissions. Ensure that the folder being used for the mount is not read only.
