Issue/Introduction
Can an old ENF library have a negative on Panvalet? Can you recycle ENF without recycle TSS?
Environment
Release: Component: TSSMVS
Resolution
Panvalet doesnt use ENF, so it shouldnt have an affect.
It never a good idea to have old libraries around because the possibility of running mixed modules could be a potential problem.
ENF can be recycled with TSS up. TSS doesnt have to be recycled.
For any application like CICS that uses ENF, ENF must be up when the application that uses it.
TSS security in CICS will not startup during CICS initialization if ENF is not up. So, if you bring down ENF, those applications that depend on ENF and are not already up, must wait for ENF to be brought up before you initialize those applications.
Applications that use ENF/CCI, will stop working. Example:CA Top Secret uses CCI for TSS CPF (Command Propagation Facility). TSS CPF will stop working if ENF is brought down. Once ENF is up, TSS CPF will start working again.
