Issue/Introduction
I am new to the CA Output Management Web Viewer product. We currently are running CA Output Management Web Viewer on a Windows 2012 R2 server. Our company is beginning it's migration off of Server 2012 R2, upgrading to Server 2016. Do you have a recommended component update order? We are currently using an external SQL Server for our database. Finally, we saw in your documentation that we can have multiple DRAS instances running on the mainframe. Is this hard to set up? We want to protect ourselves by running multiple instances of DRAS.
Environment
Release: Component: WBVLUW
Resolution
update 12.1 Web Viewer first, bringing it to Build 192 or Build 193. That update, especially on a Windows Server is straight-forward, quick and easy. With that under your belt, yes you can go about updating CA View/Deliver and DRAS, all from the same install.
Additional Information
It is not difficult to have multiple DRAS instances. All you need to do is start additional DRAS tasks each with unique server IDs. You then discover/define them to your Web Viewer by doing an Add Repository. We here at CA/Broadcom run with more DRAS tasks than I'd care to count. Most idf not all of our customers run with multiple DRAS as well.
