Issue/Introduction

Software Package distributions can produce large amounts of Job Output that must be transferred up to Scalability Servers and then up again to the Domain Manager, this is done for all jobs by default. Sometimes, the files can be quite large and may need long file transfers and large amounts of disk space in the Output folder under the Software Library on the Domain Manager.

Most of the times, this Job Output is only checked in case the Job has failed to check the cause of the failure, so the Job Output information for successful jobs is not needed.

How can I transfer only the Job Output from failed jobs to prevent excessive network bandwidth and disk usage?

Environment

Client Automation 14.x

Resolution

The option "Job Check: Output file upload mode" can be used to instruct the Agent what to do with the output files from the executed Jobs. By default is set to '0' that means all Job Output files will be transferred to the server, setting it to '1', instructs the Agent to just transfer failed jobs.

If Job Output files are not needed at all, setting the parameter to '2' will prevent all Job Output files from being transferred to the server.

This Configuration Policy parameter can be updated at DSM/Software Delivery/Agent/Job Check: Output file upload mode as can be seen in the following screenshot:
