Issue/Introduction

Where do we get the rpm packages to install the latest robot versions?

Environment

  • Release: Any
  • Component: UIMRBR

Resolution

The .rpm file is located in two places within the DX UIM environment - it is not possible to download the raw .rpm files directly from the internet.

The first location is the UIM Home Page, e.g. (http://(your primary hub IP)/uimhome/

On the "Installers" page you will find links to download the .rpm files.

The second location is on the filesystem of the primary hub under (NIMSOFT_HOME)\Nimsoft\install\setup\ -- this is the folder where the UIM Home page gets the files.   You can find the .rpm files in this folder.

To obtain a newer version, locate the package "robot_rpm" in your DX UIM Archive - if there is a newer version available, download it (or you can obtain it from the Archive tab on https://support.nimsoft.com and import it).

Once you have the newest robot_rpm package in your Archive, deploy/drag-and-drop this package to your Primary Hub as if you were deploying a probe;  but instead of deploying a probe, the robot_rpm package updates the installer files which are located in the folder mentioned above.  (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Nimsoft\install\setup\ or /opt/nimsoft/install/setup/).

You can get then download the updated rpm packages from this folder or the UIM Home page and distribute them to the needed machines for robot installation.

Additional Information

The same approach also applies to the "nimldr" installer and "install-LINUX*" packages.
