Is it possible to create a CSI using CA CSM that uses one distribution zone for multiple target zones?
CA CSM was not designed to assign one distribution to multiple target zones but this can be done by deleting the distribution zone datasets after an installation and allowing CSM to recreate them for another target zone. Having multiple targets for one distribution zones has limitations for SMP/E and these also apply to CSM. For example maintenance can not be accepted.
Procedure:
1) Install a product into a new CSI. The only thing that must be done during this new install is that on step 6 Distribution zone (2/3) a separate dataset must be created for the distribution zone. Note this name of the HLQ because after the install is successful all the datasets for this HLQ must be deleted for the install into another target zone.

2) Proceed and complete the install successfully.
Delete all the distribution zone related datasets. In this example they are:

This can be done from several locations such as the SMP/E Environment Information tab. Start another install for your product and select this CSI from the list. Once you get to the step 6 Distribution zone (2/3) enter the same values as before. Otherwise the CSI initialization will fail with:

WAS ADDED. THE STATEMENT WAS CHECKED IN UCVADDCK.
For each additional target zone to be created the distribution datasets must be deleted so they can be recreated. This is the result of four targets for
one distribution zone:
