Issue/Introduction

This article describes how to suppress the leading text "IDMS" from all IDMS messages written to the console, CV joblog, and SYSLOG.

All IDMS console messages are prefixed with the text "IDMS". Some message tracking software is limited to how many characters of a message it can trap. Therefore, removing the "IDMS" from IDMS messages can increase the potential granularity of message tracking, because more of the significant message text can be used as the target.

Environment

Release: All supported releases.

Resolution

PTFs RO99624 (r18.5) and RO99627 (r19.0) add new functionality of RHDCOPTF bit 346 to do this.
Apply whichever PTF is relevant to the IDMS release and enable bit 346 in RHDCOPTF.
