Issue/Introduction

After installing Spectrum, how can I tell if my Spectrum install is configured for the huge Landscape Handle or not?

Environment

Release: All Supported Releases
Component: SPCCSS

Resolution

1. Log into the SpectroSERVER system as the user that owns the Spectrum installation

2. If on Windows, open a bash shell by running "bash -login"

3. cd to the $SPECROOT/SS-Tools directory

4. Run either "./HostUpdate -v" or "./MapUpdate -v" at the command line.

Sample results of "./HostUpdate -v":

Landscape   Service Type Name  Hostname                       Port   Precedence  Notes

----------  ------------------ ------------------------------ ------ ----------  ------------------

0           Process Daemon       spectrum                           0xfeeb 10          16M model mask

0           Process Daemon SS  spectrum                           0xfeeb 10          16M model mask

Sample results of "./MapUpdate -v":

Landscape   Service Type Name  Hostname                       Port   Precedence  Notes

----------  ------------------ ------------------------------ ------ ----------  ------------------

0x3000000   Events                    spectrum                   0xbafe   10          16M model mask

0x3000000   Landscape Default  spectrum                  0xbeef   10          16M model mask

0x3000000   Landscape              spectrum                   0xbeef   10          16M model mask

The "16M" in the above results indicates the Spectrum install is configured with Huge Landscape Handle. If not, it would read "1M".
