Issue/Introduction

If the ACF2VM service machine 193 mdisk is setup as RW and not RR the CALMP KEYS file can not be updated.
How can CALMP KEYS file on the 193 mdisk be updated without an IPL?

Environment

Release:
Component: ACF2VM

Resolution

The 193 should have been set up as RR not MR. To correct the problem the Service machine directory entry for 193 needs to be changed from MR to RR and then restart the service machine through ACFSERVE to get that into effect.

The ACFSERVE RESTART command gradually quiesces the CA ACF2™ for z/VM service machine and restarts it. This method is of quiescing CA ACF2™ for z/VM is recommended. It is not recommended using the CP FORCE command or the CMS HX command. Users must have the unscoped SECURITY privilege in their logonid record to issue this command. The system operator can also issue this command. The syntax for this command is:

ACFServe RESTART

Details on the ACFSERVE RESTART can be found in the ACF2 VM documentation in section "Restarting the CA ACF2 for VM Service Machine".
