The client wants to duplicate primary CA View tapes using ABARS (Aggregate Backup and Recovery Support).
Their attempts, however, result in error message IEC023I and a S237-04 condition.
How are they to solve this problem?

Resolution
CA View tapes are proprietary in format.
As such:
. Only CA View can process the data on the tapes.
. A copy cannot be made of a View tape using any utility other than those supplied by View.
As the client has a static database, and wants to have another set of tapes at another site, it was suggested that they:
. Set SARINIT STORGRPn parameters, such that a duplex tape is created.
. Start and Stop the SARSTC task.
. Run SARPAC on all of the tapes, creating duplex copies.
. Set SARINIT STORGRPn parameters, removing the duplexing.
. Start and stop the SARSTC task.
As such:
