SAP Agent on LINUX is leaving jobs in "SUBMIT" status

Issue/Introduction

Migrating Workload Automation Agent with SAP plugin from HPUX-IA-64 to Linux-x86-64. Activating new agent runs for several hours then stalled. Unable to determine the cause of why agent stop processing jobs.

Cause

1. HP-UX specific parameter was configured for the Linux agent e.g. oscomponent.jni.stacksize=512000. This is a requirement for HP-UX server to manage the JNI stack size and stack overflow problem.

2. Problem while trying to retrieve the job's JobCount from SAP. The “java.lang.NullPointerException” exceptions are logged in sap_request_monitor.log;
- Exception during processors monitoring. java.lang.NullPointerException

Resolution

1. Remove ‘oscomponent.jni.stacksize=512000’ setting in agent's agentparm.txt file.

2. Upgrade the SAP plugin to the latest build (RO98357). It includes fixes related to SAP jobs getting stuck problems.
