Issue/Introduction

How can I move the CA 2E source code libraries to a new IBMi System?

We have some new hardware and want to move 2E source code libraries to the new machine.

Environment

Ca 2E 8.7 and higher

Resolution

  1. SAVLIB all the needed 2E libraries from the existing environment to SAVFs (make sure all objects were saved). If only models, then the model libraries and generation libraries need to be included. If the software as well, then the software libraries Y1SY, Y2SY etc(don't forget YLUSLIB) and any other libraries needed--usually those Yxxxx in the lib list are the ones you would need to move. Plus the license lib YLUSLIB.

  2. Transfer SAVFs from existing to new server 

  3. Restore all the libraries with RSTLIB (make sure all objects were restored)
