Identity Portal Profile: Configure User Name and Profile Image display

Issue/Introduction

This article provides instructions for configuring the Identity Portal to display the Username (replacing the UserID) and the user profile image within the profile section of the portal.

Environment

Identity Portal 14.x & 15

Cause

The default configuration may not include the necessary attribute mappings or UI definitions required to display the Username and profile image, resulting in missing or default data (e.g., "N/A") in the profile view.

Resolution

To configure the display of the Username and profile image, perform the following steps:

1. Log in to the Identity Portal Admin Console.
2. Navigate to Settings > Managed Object Attributes.
3. Click ADD USER ATTRIBUTE.
4. Add the following attributes from the Eurekify.cfg file to the GUI configuration:
   • PersonID
   • UserName
5. Click Save.
6. Navigate to Settings > Gui Configuration.
7. Update the following fields:
   • user_displayname: Change the default {FirstName} {LastName} to {UserName}.
   • user_title: Change the default {Title} to {PersonID}.
   • Note: As you type, a dropdown list will display valid variables.
8. Click Save to apply the configuration changes.
