Auto-adjusted replication blocksize for '<name>' up to <size>.

Is the following nas alarm something to be concerned about:

Auto-adjusted replication blocksize for '<name>' up to <size>.

Environment

  • UIM 8.51 or higher

Cause

  • Guidance

Resolution

  • This alarm will be sent by the nas when the replication post event fails (due to a timeout/connection failure etc.). This might, as the alarm suggests, be due to a slow transfer rate but also other issues, most often related to the network.

  • As it sends this alarm, it will also write a more verbose description of the error in the log - It follows this general format:
    replPostQueue '<name>' auto-adjusting blocksize

  or

Auto-adjusted replication blocksize for <name> up to <size>
  • As with all non-volatile alarms, you may set up the NAS to filter them out but it may be worth taking a look at the nas log when set to loglevel 3 first.

  • You can set up an Auto Operator (or preprocessing rule) to silently drop all messages from the nas probe matching "Auto-adjusted replication blocksize".
