Receiving syslogd message in Opslog

Issue/Introduction
We have had numerous issues this past year losing the connection from syslogd and Opslog viewing in Opsview. TNG, Common Services, and Ops/MVS all have a function in this. We currently cannot see the messages again but my system programmers tell me the parts are working. Can you explain to me the part that Ops/MVS has in this?

Resolution
The CAIOPER task picks up the messages from SYSLOGD and sends them to OPS/MVS.
These parms control the connection and the USS events.
USSEXIT 80025 EVENTS number of messages sent to OPS by CAIOPER
BROWSEUSSPROC NO should USS events be placed in OPSLOG
INITUSSPROC YES install exit used by OPS and CAIOPER to deliver syslogd messages
USSACTIVE ON should AOF rules process USS events
