Cause

Fanouts do not have the fault isolation capability that enables the fault isolation process to determine that the upstream device is the problem.

Resolution

It is recommend to use a  SharedMediaLink model in place of a Fanout. The SharedMediaLink model has enhanced fault isolation capabilities that the Fanout model does not.
