Issue/Introduction

When upstream device is down why are all models connected via Fanout not suppressed when all others are suppressed in Spectrum

Cause

Fanouts do not have the fault isolation capability that enables the fault isolation process to determine that the upstream device is the problem.

Resolution

It is recommend to use a  SharedMediaLink model in place of a Fanout. The SharedMediaLink model has enhanced fault isolation capabilities that the Fanout model does not.
