Why is only one age out filter working for a Spectrum Alarm Notification Manager (SANM) policy when we have set up two at 5 minutes and 10 minutes
Release: Any
Component: SPCAPP
Spectrum can differentiate the filter based on Alarm Severity, Landscape, Model Type etc, but can not be differentiated with the Age out time.
For example: If an Alarm comes for the same device (modeled on same landscape) with same severity, and if the same policy is applied with 2 different filters, then the Alarm needs to pass through the filter with Minimum age out first as the filter condition is met, and can never be passed through the higher age out filters because minimum Age Out criteria is already met.
But Spectrum still collects the Notification data from other higher age out filters and sends it to all notifications.
Ideally we can not have the filters differentiated based on the Age out. But we can have the filters based on the 'Filtered By' fields mentioned in the Filter dialog.
For example, if we have filters based on different Alarm severity (say Critical and Major) and Age out configured as 5 mins and 10 mins respectively, then if a Critical alarm comes it will pass through the Filter 1 with Age out 5 mins and will be notified to the corresponding filter 1 notification users only with the 5 minute delay.
If a major alarm is generated, the alarm will be passed through only filter 2 with Age out 10 mins, and notified to the filter 2 users only with 10 mins delay.
If the alarm must pass multiple filters with different ages, SANM uses the shortest, non-zero alarm age interval.
