Issue/Introduction

Broadcom utilizes the Ideation platform within the Broadcom Community to track, manage, and prioritize feature enhancements (RFEs) for DX Unified Infrastructure Management (UIM). This process is the official channel for customers to address product gaps, such as security requirements for API deployments, missing probe metrics, new features and/or functions, etc., by collaborating directly with Product Management.

Resolution

Ideas for Broadcom Products (also known as Feature or Enhancement Requests) can be posted at the following location:

1. Sign In to the site to search and view Ideas.

2. View Ideas

     Click the thumbs up icon to vote on any Ideas.

3. Add (Share) New Ideas

On the "Share an Idea" page select "DX Unified Infrastructure Management (DX UIM)" as the Category, and click Apply to Apply the Filters.

Click ADD to start entering your Idea.

4. Submit the Idea

Upload any related attachments, files, or images to describe your Idea and if possible explain its business/technical importance in the comments.

5. Click Save

6. Ask others (Partners, DSE, DX UIM Support/consultants, DX UIM community members, etc.), to VOTE UP Ideas!!!

Summary of Instructions for Submitting an Enhancement Request
If a feature gap or product limitation is identified follow these steps:

1. Access the Ideation Portal

• Navigate to the Broadcom Ideation Home.
• Sign in with your Broadcom Support credentials to search and view active requests.

2. Validate Existing Ideas

• Search for keywords related to your requirement (e.g., "API Robot Deployment" or "cdm disk I/O").
• If a similar idea exists, click the Thumbs Up icon to vote. High vote counts directly influence PM prioritization.

3. Create a New Idea

     If no matching idea is found:

• Click Add to create a new submission
• Category: Select DX Unified Infrastructure Management (DX UIM)
• Subject: Use a descriptive title (e.g., "Encrypted Credential Support for UIMAPI Robot Deployment")
• Description: Clearly state the technical requirement, the business impact (e.g., "Current requirement for cleartext passwords prevents automation due to security policy"), and the desired outcome.
• Attachments: Upload screenshots or configuration examples to illustrate the use case

4. Engagement and Voting

• Click Save to publish
• Share the Idea link with stakeholders, Partners, or your Account Representative to encourage additional "Vote Up" support. Promote the Idea.
