Does CA PDSMAN support Extended Address Volumes (EAV Devices)?

Environment

PDSMAN V7.7z/OS 1.12 and above

Resolution

Yes. CA PDSMAN does provide support for Extended Address Volumes (EAV Devices) with required APAR RO22426 applied. This is the description of the APAR to provide information regarding the various CA PDSMAN components affected:

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
With z/OS 1.12 IBM announced support for Partitioned
Data Sets (PDS) and Physical Sequential data sets
(PS), as well as most other data set types, to reside
in cylinder-managed space of EAV devices.

This fix adds support to CA PDSMAN space management
functions for these data sets. Specifically:

 - FastCopy XCOMPRESS command is modified to report
space added or released to/from cylinder managed
   data sets correctly.

 - EZYEDIT RELEASE command is modified to report
   cylinder managed data sets correctly.

 - EZYEDIT ADDSPACE command is modified to correctly
report space added to cylinder managed data sets.

SYMPTOMS:
Without the changes provided by this PTF, PDSMAN may
not correctly report space management functions
performed on data sets residing in cylinder managed
space.

IMPACT:
Impact is limited to FastCopy XCOMPRESS, PDSM10
EMPTY/RELEASE, and EZYEDIT RELEASE and ADDSPACE
commands.
