When trying to RECEIVE CA ACF2 maintenance, messages like the following are seen:
ROxxxxx NOT RECEIVED PTF NO APPLICABLE ++VER
What is wrong?
Every CA ACF2 fix (PTF) contains a ++VER that identifies the owning FMID of the element specified in the fix (PTF), along with additional information regarding prerequisites and/or superseding fixes.
The message: ROxxxxx NOT RECEIVED PTF NO APPLICABLE ++VER
produced during SMP/E RECEIVE processing means that the FMID specified in the ++VER statement within the PTF is not installed.
If this component FMID for the product is not needed, then the message for this PTF can be ignored as it is not applicable to the environment. If this component FMID is desired, then install the FMID. After installing the FMID then rerun the SMP/E RECEIVE for the ACF2 maintenance and these PTFs will be received.
Note that this type of error and solution may be applicable to other Broadcom mainframe products installed using SMP/E.
