Issue/Introduction

Resource assignment ETC is not adjusting based on changes made to the Resource calendar or updated allocations  if the resource was assigned to the task before the calendar/allocation change was made in Clarity PPM. This calendar change includes marking days set as working days as non working days., the allocations on the team can be changed by the periods or the default allocation.

Environment

Release: Any Supported Release

Resolution

  • This is working as designed.
  • In order to see the changes in ETC distribution, you would have to autoschedule the project.
  • This can be done by:
    • Running the Autoshedule Project job in Clarity - Home - Reports and Jobs
      or
    • Going to the Project Gantt and running Autoschedule there
      or
    • Using the 'Autoschedule' action in MUX

Allocations are tied to availability and will automatically update when the resource's calendar changes.

ETC previously defined are not affected by changes to calendar or allocations as the work will still need to be completed in the defined work period.  Reports and portlets will show that the resource is now over assigned for this period.

Additional Information

Note: Any task assignments on Custom Investment Types (CIT) don't have autoscheduling capabilities, so this must be updated manually
