View Index taking more space because of JOBMODE usage.

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to View 12.2, the View index dataset shows an increase in space usage.

Cause

Use of JOBMODE option in View 12.2 do the following:

• Adds Job records to the database index for every report that is being archived. There are new Job(JDR), and Job X-ref(JCR) records to support the use of JOB mode.
• Adds Job records only for text-based and non-Deliver reports.

For instance, if there are 10,000 jobs runs in a day, potentially 10,000 new JCR records and up to 30,000 new JDR records would be added to the index space. This will affect the index usage of View database.

Resolution

Using SARDBASE VERSION option, back the View database to Version 12.1, so that Job records will not be retained in Index. With this change, the product still has the ability to run the View 12.2 software.
