Issue/Introduction

I currently have a threshold set for a particular started task that issues a PROBLEM alert at a value of 8 on the JOBCPUT% metric. It seems to be working well but I've had some questions about how this value is determined and what exactly it means. 

What is the difference between the MVS Variables JOBCPUT% and JOBCPT%?

Environment

z/OS and zIIP processors.

Resolution

The MVS Variable JOBCPUT% considers z/IIP processors as well as CP type processors.

The MVS Variable JOBCPT% only takes into consideration CP type processors.
