Is CA 7 Database for R12 encrypted?

Issue/Introduction

I am creating a security request (SRCR) to our security team so we can install R12 in our environment. One of the questions they are asking me is if the data base that holds the definitions is Encrypted. I have been looking the manual to find the information but have not found it yet.

Resolution

The data itself is not encrypted. However, beyond the security that can be invoked by CA 7, there is also levels of security provided by Datacom - other than dataset level security.
