Issue/Introduction

Here is the limitation on entry rule numbers in SPECIALPGM class in the Manual page.

Environment

Privileged Identity Manager: 12.8 SP1 for All platform

Privileged Access Manager Server Control: 14.0, 14.1 for All platform

Resolution

The description is not correct.
Maximun limit is defined in each platform.

  • Windows : The maximum number of rules that you can place in the specialpgm class table is 16384.
  • UNIX/LINUX : The maximum number of rules that you can place in the specialpgm class table is 1024.

Additional Information

SPECIALPGM class can be registered with wildcard.
The wildcard rule is only 1 count at the rule although wildcard points to some binary files. It can help to reduce the rule.

But Wildcard rule may affect system performance.
So, please set a wildcard rule delicately.
