We upgraded VMSECURE to CA VM:Secure (TM) Version 03.2 RSU-1801. Then a few days later we upgraded the VM system to the latest IBM and VSSI maintenance. We run VPARS and VTAPE from VSSI. Our problem is that our VTAPE data bases would not open and we got the vendor involved.
We ran a TRSOURCE etc and he said that was a problem with the directory for MDISKS defined with an 'END' for the length.
Environment
Products such as VTAPE won't initialize.
Cause
Object directory DDEV entries don't have DDEVEEXT set to zero when a minidisk is defined with n-END. This causes VM:Secure to be inconsistent with DIRECTXA which zeros DDEVEEXT for these minidisks.
You could experience errors or problems with software that expects DDEVEEXT to be set to zeros for n-END defined minidisks.
