How can I resolve "Error 1605: retrieving version string from installed CA Directory (32)64-bit" returned by CA Directory installer.
Environment
Release: ESPDIR99000-12-Extended Support Plus-for CA Directory Component:
Applicable to EEM 12.6.05 on Windows 2012.
Resolution
64-bit version of CA Directory:
On Windows if the CA Directory installer gives "Error '1605' retrieving version string from installed CA Directory 64-bit" you will need follow the steps provided below.
Open a command prompt and type "regedit" and hit enter to open the registry editor.
Navigate to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\UpgradeCodes".
Under the above key select "6989C335CC17DF442A91D1EB18FF458F".
Right-click the above key and click "Export" and make a backup of the registry key.
Delete the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\UpgradeCodes\6989C335CC17DF442A91D1EB18FF458F" registry key.
Re-run the CA Directory installer.
32-bit version of CA Directory:
On Windows if the CA Directory installer gives "Error '1605' retrieving version string from installed CA Directory 32-bit" you will need follow the steps provided below.
Open a command prompt and type "regedit" and hit enter to open the registry editor.
Navigate to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\UpgradeCodes".
Under the above key select "FDAACF7C49F89A64986B396A0EEC62D9".
Right-click the above key and click "Export" and make a backup of the registry key.
Delete the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\UpgradeCodes\FDAACF7C49F89A64986B396A0EEC62D9" registry key.
