SARPAC03 Master index is already in use

Issue/Introduction

We have CA-View, and many old physical tapes to copy to new tapes using SARPAC program. Is it possible to run more than 1 SARPAC job concurrently against a single CA-View database?

Resolution

No it is not possible to run multiple SARPACs at the same time against the same database.

You will receive SARPAC03, which indicates: 

1. Your  trying to run multiple SARPACs with the same DB HLQ name causing the Master Index to be locked. Only 1 sarpac can run at a time. 

2. You are running a sarpac at the same time as the backup cycle
