Issue/Introduction

Dowe have information on how to use Microfocus to get the code source to the mainframe by connecting via MF EXpress?

Environment

CA Telon PWS release 4.0 is not a supported release at this timeMF Express 3.1, a compiler tool to connect through Microfocus to the mainframe

Resolution

The problem with supporting Microfocus and Microfocus utilities is that we do not support compilation of CA Telon programs on PC, Linux, or any kind of distributed platform. We did support it for release 4.1, but we now no longer support it.

This appendix describes third-party products that can be used with CA-TELON PWS. 

C.2 Micro Focus COBOL/2 Workbench 
The Micro Focus COBOL/2 Workbench is a tool that can be used to test CA-Telon-designed and CA-Telon-generated COBOL programs. By using the 
Micro Focus COBOL/2 Workbench product in conjunction with Micro Focus CICS, Micro Focus IMS, or XDB, you can design, develop, and test IMS, CICS, 
and SQL CA-Telon-generated programs. CA Technologies suggests that the COBOL.DIR and WB.DIR files contain the following: 

ASSIGN(EXTERNAL) 
CHARSET"EBCDIC" 
COPYLBR 
IBMCOMP 
NOBOUND 
OMF(OBJ) 
OSVS 
PREPROCESS($XDBDIR\XDB) <- for XDB only 
SEQUENTIAL(LINE) 

As you can see, this is specifically for Micro Focus Cobol/2 Workbench. We do not have specific information for Micro Focus Express as we do not support it and have not supported Micro Focus Express at any time.
