Issue/Introduction

When the BMP option is used to collapse BMP message-driven transaction
records, a S0C4 ABEND might occur while running LDE as an exit in the
IMS Archiver. The same problem can occur while processing raw IMS log
data with a standalone LDE job, or with a DAY060/INCR060 step.

This problem does not affect customers who process data generated by
BMC Mainview for IMS.

SYMPTOMS
The IMS Archive using the LDE exit or the standalone LDE job or the
DAY060/INCR060 step fail with a S0C4 ABEND and error messages similar
to the following appears in the JESMSGLG output DD:

Additional Information

CIRCUMVENTION
If you run LDE as an EXIT to the IMS Archiver, change the BMP option
in LDEPARM to NOBMP.

If you input IMSLOG data directly into DAY060, change the BMP option
in IMSOPS to NOBMP and run prefix.MICS.CNTL(IMSPGEN).

Note that this circumvention bypasses the BMP collapse feature,
potentially increasing the number of observations written to the
MICS database files.
