Issue/Introduction

After a device reconfiguration there are suppressed interface models.  The device has a change in the interface table which Spectrum detects and automatically reconfigures the model.  The interface and chassis tables are read and Spectrum recreates the interfaces appropriately except that there are now interfaces in a suppressed state when they are actually up and contactable.

The following event shows on the interface model:

Suppressed May 17, 2018 3:02:28 AM EDT <modelname> Gen_IF_Port Port <modelname> of type Gen_IF_Port is being suppressed as a result of a module failure. System 0x10f8d

Environment

Release: 10.3
Component: SPCCSS

Cause

The problem was that when a module is either offline/not_present a module failure event is sent to the interfaces under it and they change to suppressed. A reconfig happens and the module is destroyed and remodeled with the updated interface information but Spectrum would keep the original suppressed condition.

Resolution

This is resolved in the bi monthly patch for 10.3 -- Spectrum_10.03.00.BMP_10.3.001.

Please contact Spectrum support for copies of these patches/media.

This fix is also tentatively scheduled to be included in CA Spectrum 10.3.1 once released.
